Create your own Lava Lamp by combining the base, cap and lava bottle! The legendary Astro lamps can be ordered with 4 types of Base & Cap and 11 types of fun and colourful lava bottles. 

The first & original: 

The first and original lava lamp, designed by Mathmos founder and inventor of lava lamps, Edward Craven Walker. A Pop Design classic, the Mathmos Astro has been made in Britain since 1963. Hand-polished by British craftsmen, each Astro lava lamp’s spun aluminium base shines with exceptional quality and care.

1)Astro base and cap in highly polished silver aluminium. This finish to the silver Astro was introduced in 2013 Astros before this date had a silver anodised or scotch bright finish.

2)Astro base and cap for Astro black lava lamp in a matt black anodised finish.

The Vinyl collection: 

The Vinyl collection of classic 1963 Astro lava lamps is inspired by vinyl records, the iconic music format of the 1960s that's still loved and collected today. Skilled British craftspeople hand-spin the metal, carefully etch grooves and finish it with a sleek black anodised coating to create that authentic vinyl look. It comes in a unique box design with a woven sawtooth black-and-white lead, similar to those found on vintage music gear.

The Bottles: 

The original Astro lava lamp was designed by Edward Craven-Walker in 1963. The bottle is manufactured to a consistent quality standard in the UK and hand filled in the Mathmos factory. The unique formula has the optimum long-lasting lava flow.
